  • Awesome time had this past Saturday! my lil girl turned 7 and we had a Shrek party with Fiona the face painter! (Magna) the kids loved it, the parents loved it. If you want a party that totally rocks hire Magna to paint up the faces. The kid’s imaginations went wild. A party in a park with lil ones popping out around trees with their butterfly faces and flowers and the scary skull faces and batman, even the gingerbread man. It made a sweet party. Thank you for helping celebrate my lil girl’s birthday!

    Carrie,

I’ve been an artist ever since I could pick up a pencil. I came home from art school with no marketable skills and sold my artistic soul to the corporate gods and worked in sales and marketing for over 20 years. In that time I maintained my passion for art, but didn’t act on it much visually until I had a family and got tired of waiting in lineups at festivals with my kids for facepainting. I did my research and found the safest products to use. I’m passionate about high standards for safety and quality. I hope to raise the facepainting standard and expectations in the lower mainland. I regularly upgrade my skills with research, practice and workshops. I’ve won competitions and love to come up with new and innovative designs.

Every face is a new and unique canvas. I love people and creativity. The best part of my job is when a client sees themselves in the mirror after I’ve painted them and their face lights up! The worst part is trying to end a line at a large event or festival. It’s hard to say no to ‘please, just one more…’ The fact is most people (young and old) love to be facepainted so call me and book an event today! I’d love to create some amazing artwork for you!

The combination of my sales, event planning and teaching background provides valuable experience in the entertainment world. You can feel confident when hiring CATZ FACES! We make entertaining easy!

My Other Hats…

Wedding & Event Planning

I used to be known as the ‘do it yourself wedding expert.’ After 30 years around weddings and other events I’ve built up a lot of useful resources for those planning their own events. I’m all about connecting people with local, useful and current content that will make their event unique, meaningful and memorable.
I had another website that has been an evolution of love and hard work. It started in 2005 as a resource to support my wedding and event planning students. It grew to be a great resource for anyone planning an event whether privately or professionally…but shut it down when COVID happened  WED Resources Website »

Teaching

When I learn something new, my first instinct is to make it into a course. I love learning new things and putting it into a way others can understand too. I’ve taught for over 20 years in various capacities. The courses vary from general interest courses at continuing education facilities, to full-time event planning adult learning at local colleges. You might have even seen me give presentations to help small businesses with advertising tips at local women’s groups. I currently teach an event planning course I created at UFV called  Wedding Essentials Workshops »

Graphic Design

When I came home from Art School back in the day, I quickly realized I needed to pay some bills, so I sold my artistic soul to the corporate gods and went into Sales and Marketing. After completing the Marketing program at BCIT and continually educating myself on design software, I’ve been able to pursue some creativity corporately with Graphic Design. I’ve specialized in helping many individuals and small businesses build an effective visual identity with logo design and other effective marketing materials. more info »
